Description

Before the formation of the continents, there appeared in the sky a cloud that filled the universe. From this could rain fell continuously for ages. This rainwater remained suspended in space, kept there by the force of the ever-present wind, which also kept it from dispersing in the sky. The winds blowing from all directions churned the surface of this suspended body of water, causing the agglomeration of it’s molecules into a solid mass. This land mass grew higher and higher, rising from the surface as the water level receded. The waves slapping at it’s sides formed glaciers and snow falling from above turned it white. Thus was formed the Queen of mountains, Sagarmatha, the crown jewel of the Earth. Also very well known as Chomolungma in the Native language.
